Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci was born on December 12, 1961 within Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast. She has the record of being recognized with 10/10 scores in an Olympic event. Bela Karolyi later Romanian Gymnastics Coach discovered Comaneci as she was only 6 years old. Her first competition was at the national junior championships in 1969 and finished 13th. She was the winner in 1970. Her first ever international competition in 1972, she came out on top with three gold medals. When she competed for the first time as a senior, in 1975 she beat out Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva the five-time European champion, winning four gold medals and one silver. The year was 1976 when she was the winner of the American Cup at the New York City Olympics and was the first female to ever dismount parallel bars with a double backward salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. When she was a teen, Carol Wayne began working in the entertainment field performing as a figure skater. With her younger twin brother Nina Wayne she was part of a show that traveled called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was a born on the 6th day of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois. Carol began her career in the entertainment business as a teenager. Her first professional gig was figure skating with Nina Wayne, her younger sister as part of traveling entertainment shows Ice Capades. The shows featured theatrical ice-skating performances.
